We are MFL teachers in the UK and our passion for transforming our subject is serious. We have an unfair and bland KS4 curriculum, dysfunctional assessments and a shortage of teachers. How can it be a surprise that numbers are dwindling?
We are determined to do everything we can at a grassroots level to turn this around. From what we teach to how we teach it, with a big emphasis on how we assess it, too, we want to debate everything and build a consensus about how we rescue MFL from the academic doldrums and catapult it back to being a leading subject at GCSE and A-level, for the benefit of our students and communities across the country.
